If i had to choose betwen kobe or kg, i'd pick kobe just because he is surrounded by ALOT less talent than KG. The Celtics are having a great season because they have three amazingly talented players [kg, pierce, allen]. all three are averaging almost 20 ppg or more. Kobe, a top of the notch player, is surrounded by players who work at lower levels than the big three. Yes, the celtics have a much much better record than the Lakers. However, for what the lakers have, they aren't doing too shabby. They are 14-9 this year.

It's like when KG was with the timberwolves. Out of the many years he was with the timberwolves, how many MVPs were awarded to KG? Kobe is in a similar situation. What was the twolves record last year when KG still played for them? 32-50. What was the Laker's record last year with Kobe playing? 42-40. Not a great record, but much better than what the timberwolves accomplished. Kobe took the lakers into the post-season multiple times. When was the last time the twolves made it to the playoffs? Not since 2003. When was the last time Kobe and the Lakers made the playoffs? Last year.

This shows that Kobe can do great things with not much help, and KG can't. Althought KG is a great leader on the court, his history with the twolves doesn't help.

Therefore, if i had to choose between Kobe or KG, i would choose Kobe.

KG is the difference of the Boston Team who should be title contenders. Records mean a lot in the MVP voting. Last two years it was Nash and Nowinski , who had great regular season records. Unless the Lakers win 65 games, Kobe wouldn't be MVP. I am sure it is going to KG.
neither. MVP should go to steve nash, he should've won it last year instead of nowitzky. can make clutch shots, one of THE greatest passers the NBA has seen.

Kobe is doing more with less around him so I would vote for him. However, the voters are basketball writers and they have long memories. Some may never get over what happened with the girl in Colorado (even though he was never convicted of anything).

Lebron has to be in the conversation too depending on what the Cavs record looks like at the end of the season.

right now its between KG %26amp; Dwight Howard..LeBron James is having a great season but tha award will go to tha best player on tha best team and I dont think tha Cavs will finish with a great record

I think it's Kobe if he doesn't play selfishly creates scoring opportunities for teammates,setting up teammates to score
unless the lakers have a 60+ season, kobe isnt going to win mvp. Its always the top teams who come out with the league mvps. But even in boston, it could still be pierce instead of garnett.
Most likely Kobe because he has been keeping his game up this year but i would like to see KG get MVP this year.......
