Deron Williams and the NBA MVP, why doesn't he get more props?

His numbers are close to Steve Nash, he's younger, and he has a lot less options. I think he could be the best point guard in the NBA within a couple years, if he isn't already? Why aren't they talking about him for the MVP Award?

He is in a small market place. Utah gets no media attention. I guarantee if he was the Lakers PG with those numbers....He would be getting all the MVP talk.

because everyone knows Dirk is gonna take it!!
because Kobe, Dirk, and Steve Nash are more commonly known player throughout the NBA community
Similar numbers don't necessarily mean similar impact, or ability to win in clutch situations. Williams and Chris Paul are the two best young point guards in the league. Neither are the type of guys that could be mentioned in MVP discussions yet. As a serious NBA fan, I am extremely impressed with Deron, no doubt about it. But you must realize that he hasn't done anything of note yet. This year's playoffs will be his coming out party. If he performs well in the post-season against the likes of Nash, Tony Parker, and Jason Terry, and then continues to improve on the same curve next year - then you might see his name in MVP arguments. Not unitl then.
He's the definite choice for Most Improved Player, but he's not the MVP. Dirk Nowitzki is. His coach should be Coach of the Year because he's done more with less.
He's not the best player on his team, Carlos Boozer is. If anyone should win MVP on the Jazz it should be Boozer.
Steve Nash had back to back MVP and people recognize him more. He is plainly underrated. But hes gonna get big
becasue they barely mention Steve Nash it is all talk bout Dirk man......................Dirk for MVP!!!!
