I think because he's nothing but an overrated bumb like Kobe Bryant. I konw some of you guys are going to give him the 'LAME' excuse by say, it's hard getting Finals MVP playing with someone as dominate as Jordan. Lame! Lame! Lame! That exuse isn't legit at all. Why? Because there has been plenty of side-kicks achieving Finals MVP playing next to a dominate player or even 2 dominate players. Check this out:
James Worthy: 1988 NBA Finals MVP (3rd otpion to Magic %26amp; the All-Time leading scorer Kareem)
Jerry West :1969 NBA Finals MVP (3rd option to dominate scorers like Wilt Chamberlain %26amp; Elgin Baylor)
Joe Dumars: 1989 NBA Finals MVP (2nd option to Isiah Thomas)
Tony Parker: 2007 NBA Finals MVP (2nd or 3rd otpion to Duncan %26amp; Manu)
Anyways, see my point? Scottie Pippen is 'OVERRATED' and never had a dominate NBA Finals series or dominate playoff performance. The Bulls were all about the 6X NBA Finals MVP, Michael Jordan
MICHAEL JORDAN IS THE GREATEST!
SCOTTIE PIPPEN SUCKS
How come Scottie Pippen never achieved NBA Finals MVP?nba 2k7
maybe because he is terrible?
How come Scottie Pippen never achieved NBA Finals MVP?nba rules ,nba teams
FOR ONCE ur right good job man
Okay since you say it like that and you act like you have done your research you have seen that Michael Jordan didnt even make it out the first round without Scottie. they lost the E conf semi once, east conf finals twice then 6x champs TOGETHER!!. Scottie didnt win when jordan left. Look at the NBA. It a popularity contest. The people who do good dont always finish first. Jordans popularity overshawdowed pippen. I mean look at Rodman. He could easily have won too. They gonna vote for the person that everbody wants to see win, It would have been a s**t storm if jordan didnt get them awards. every year look at how many awards he was getting so check your resources. You must not have ever played basketball in your life. You a fantasy basketball player. . haha
ur a freakin hater man.... and mj is the greatest and stop talkin **** bout kobe bryant cuz he'll kick ur ***
First off, I saw three of the four Finals Series that you spoke of and those that were named MVP of the series deserved it with their play. Scottie doesn't suck. His play just didn't merit winning a MVP award. Tony Parker outplayed Manu and Tim in the 2007 series. Yes I said it. Cleveland could not keep him out of the lane. He set up Tim so many times with his breaking down of Cleveland's defense. Detroit would not have won their Championship without Joe Dumars and the Lakers would not have won without James Worthy. Scottie played his role like he should have in the Bulls' offensive scheme. He wasn't suppose to lead the Bulls in scoring. He was the second option. You look at his regular season stats and his playoff stats, he raised the level of his performance in the playoffs.
he was just there to back up MJ
He was over looked because all the stars on those teams. How can you say he sucked he was on the allstar teams many times and is likely headed to the NBA hall of fame.
So I guess you have to win an MVP in the finals or regular season to be considered a good player?
Wow some standards
Scottie was a good player of course he isn't as good as MJ no one is but to say he sucks is just a stupid comment
mj was on his team
becuz MJ was on his team
I'd respect your opinions more if you learned how to spell and talk.
Answer to your question: Jordan dominated the series whenever Pippen played so your "lame" answer of "It's hard to win Finals MVP when Jordan is playing" is actually fairly legit. Finals MVP is given to whoever plays the best basketball in the series, not whoever is the primary scoring option on the winning team.
2007 Finals, Tony Parker played as well if not better than Duncan and definitely better than Ginobili in every game of the series except maybe Game 4 where he "only" scored 24 pts and got 7 rebounds, while shooting 2-3 beyond the arc and 71% overall.
In all of the Finals series Jordan played better ball, I think Scottie Pippen was a great player and I don't think the Bulls could have made it without him, you don't need a finals MVP to be good, just like you don't need rings to be good.
How can you talk about Scottie Pippen without mentioning Jordan? It would be insulting to Michael, considering the only reason anyone knows who Pippen is, is because of him.
The only thing Pippen had going for him was the fact that he may have been the only player in the league uglier than George Muresan and Patrick Ewing.
Let's not forget his domination in Portland after Michael retired... oh wait.
